AK: I think the reality of our physical human-ness makes people uncomfortable... especially in this country where personal space and hygiene are top priorities. In Odessa, when there's a big crowd waiting to get on the bus, they pack in like sardines in a can. True that local ordinances about max capacity may not even exist, and even if they do you can be sure that the bus driver doesn't give a hoot... but this would never happen here. In Central Square, it's: "We're full, wait for the next bus." Where full = if we took any more people on the bus they'd actually have to touch each and we can't be having that.
